Our Vision
A Community Transformed by the Love of Christ
"We envision St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church as a thriving, welcoming, and Spirit-filled community where every person encounters the living God, grows as an intentional disciple of Jesus Christ, and is sent forth with courage and joy to transform our corner of the world through love, justice, and compassionate service — beginning right here in Hadashville, Manitoba." Vision Statement — St. John the Baptist Parish, Hadashville
Vision is not merely a statement — it is a direction, a call, and a commitment. At St. John the Baptist, our vision emerges from deep prayer, honest discernment, and an abiding confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit to renew and revitalize every community that opens itself to God's transforming grace.
Our Vision for Worship
We envision a parish where Sunday Mass is the heartbeat of community life — celebrated with reverence, beauty, and full, conscious, and active participation by every member. We aspire to a liturgy that is both deeply traditional and vibrantly alive, that draws the faithful into the mystery of God and sends them out renewed in purpose.
Our goal is that every person who crosses our threshold for the Eucharist leaves spiritually nourished, accompanied by a community of genuine warmth, and equipped to carry the sacred encounter into the ordinary moments of daily life.
Our Vision for Discipleship
We envision a parish of intentional disciples — people who have made a personal, life-shaping commitment to Jesus Christ and who are growing in that relationship through prayer, the sacraments, the study of Scripture, and active participation in parish life. We aspire to be a community where no one drifts through faith unaccompanied, where every parishioner is known by name and cared for by the whole body.
A Culture of Welcome
We envision a parish where the first experience of every visitor is genuine, warm, and unconditional welcome — regardless of background, journey, or circumstance.
Deeper Roots in Scripture
We envision a community where the Word of God is read, prayed, studied, and lived by every parishioner — shaping our values, decisions, and relationships.
Vibrant Youth Presence
We envision a parish where the gifts, questions, and energy of young people are celebrated and integrated into every dimension of community life and ministry.
Servant Leadership
We envision a parish animated by the spirit of servant leadership — where ministry is a joyful response to God's grace, freely offered and mutually shared.
Our Vision for the Community
We envision St. John the Baptist Parish as a spiritual anchor for the Hadashville region — a community that is known and trusted throughout southeastern Manitoba for its integrity, its compassion, and its commitment to the common good. We aspire to be the first call when families face hardship, the steady presence in times of grief, and the source of hope in moments of uncertainty.
We believe the Church is most fully itself when it is most fully engaged with the world around it — not retreating from complexity, but entering it with faith, grace, and love. Our vision for community engagement is broad and deep: encompassing care for the elderly, formation of the young, accompaniment of the marginalized, and stewardship of the land and creation entrusted to our care.
Our Vision for the Future
We hold this vision with both humility and hope. We know that it is God — not human strategy — who builds the Church. And yet we are also convinced that God calls us to be active, creative, and courageous participants in that building. We commit ourselves to continuing formation, to honest self-evaluation, and to the persistent renewal that comes from staying close to the source of all life — the Eucharistic Lord present in our midst.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord — plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
We invite every person connected with St. John the Baptist Parish — past, present, and future — to share in this vision and to be part of writing the next chapter of our parish story. The best years of this community are not behind us. They are ahead — and they begin now, with you.
Help Shape This Vision Together
Our vision is not the work of one person or one generation — it is a shared call, answered together. We invite you to be part of it.
